More than one quarter of the layer population in South Korea has been lost to the disease in just six months.<\/p>\n

Among Asian and African countries, only Vietnam has reported any\u00a0new outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI<\/strong>)\u00a0in the last week to the global animal health agency, the\u00a0World Organisation for Animal Health\u00a0(OIE).<\/p>\n

New HPAI outbreaks in Vietnam<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the ministry of agriculture and rural development\u2019s latest reports to the OIE, there have been two confirmed outbreaks of HPAI caused by the\u00a0H5N1 virus in Vietnam\u00a0in the last week. These occurred in what are described as \u201cbackyard\u201d flocks in the northeastern province of Cao Bang, and in Dak Lak in central Vietnam. In total, almost 2,500 birds died or were destroyed as a result of the disease.<\/p>\n\n

South Korean egg sector counts the cost of avian flu<\/strong><\/p>\n

In South Korea, more than 37.8 million\u00a0poultry have been culled\u00a0to control the spread of HPAI, which first hit the country in November last year, reports the\u00a0Yonhap news agency. Included in this figure are 25.2 million hens, bringing the country\u2019s population of egg-layers down by more than 26 percent to 51.6 million, as of March 1.<\/p>\n

The only solutions for Avian Influenza are vaccination and bio security. Besides, good prevention program is highly recommended. First Avian Influenza vaccination should be at day 16th<\/sup>. To enhance immunity, and prevent stress caused by vaccination, should mix APA Antistress P<\/strong><\/a> (which contains Vitamin C 50%, Acid citric 50%) with feed or dissolve in drinking water for poultry to drink all day long. Second vaccination should be at day 45th<\/sup>. After vaccination, farmers should supply poultry with essential vitamins and minerals. APA Soluvita P<\/strong><\/a> is a very good source of necessary vitamins, amino acid, to improve growth of poultry, stabilize FCR and health to overcome stress after vaccination.<\/p>\n
